STV weather presenter Sean Batty says: "It's a chilly start this morning, but it will soon warm up in the strong summer sunshine.

"The blue sky will be around in many southern areas, however in the northwest Highlands and across the islands there will be thicker cloud as a weak weather front affects the area, and there could even be the odd spot of light rain.

"Temperatures will be much cooler under the cloud, but where we have the sunshine we could easily see 23C, and perhaps even higher with a few places reaching 24 or 25C."

Paper bags for fruit and vegetables have made a comeback in Morrisons, as the supermarket tries to cut the use of plastic.

Brown paper bags for greengrocer areas have been introduced into 493 stores, and will be rolled out to the rest by the end of the summer.

The company has said it hopes the move will stop the use of more than 150 million small plastic bags each year.

Drew Kirk, fruit and veg director at Morrisons said: "We've listened to customers' concerns about using plastic bags for fruit and vegetables and that is why we are bringing back paper bags."

The new bags are made from 100% recyclable paper, and will have a see-through strip so customers and staff can easily see what is inside.
